Course Overview

About this Course

The qualification confirms occupational competence, providing learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding of Spectator Safety, enabling them to work as Stewards or Marshals at spectator events. This qualification is designed for those working in the match day and events stewarding industry. It can be achieved by individuals typically working at sports events, parades, concerts or carnivals where the safety of spectators is paramount. 

This qualification is directly mapped to the latest National Occupational standards developed by Skills Active (approved March 2019) and complies with requirements outlined in Section 4.10 Stewards – training, Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds, the “Green Guide” (6th edition, 2018, Sports Ground Safety Authority).

Eligibility:

  • This qualification is available to those over 16 years.
  • Be able to understand and speak English. 
  • Already working or willing to work within the role.

Delivery:

This qualification is completed remotely through a portfolio of evidence acquired whilst working supported by an assessor.

Assessment:

In order to achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety, learners are assessed using a workbook per unit as well as practical onsite assessments.
